In case the performance of remedial rites described above is beyond the means of any person, he should give a cow in charity. This will also appease the deities and promote relief from the evil effects of the Gandanta. Because the giving of a cow in charity has been considered a superior remedial measure than giving in charity all the lands belonging to a person.

इन्द्र सूक्तं रुद्रजाप्यं जपं मृत्युंजयं ततः — सुसंकल्पविधानेन होमं कु्यत्तु मूलवत् — अभिषेक प्रकुर्वीत सूक्तैरवरुणसं्ञितैः । । 8-9 । गद्य में — इन्द्र सूक्त, रुद्रीय पाठ, मृत्युंजय मन्त्र का पाठ व संकल्पपूर्वक हवन करें — मूल शान्ति की ही तरह । पश्चात् पूर्वाक्त मन्त्रों व वारुण मन्त्रों से अभिषेक करना चाहिए ।
