The Sage said — O Maitreya! Now I will describe to you the remedial measures to be adopted to ensure relief from the evil effects of Jyestha Gandanta. The erection of a canopy (मण्डप), installation of Kalasha, selection of a priest etc., will be done in the same manner as has been recommended for the Abhukta Moola in the previous chapter. In this ceremony Indra will be the Deity-in-chief, Adhideva will be Agni (Fire) and the Pratyadhideva will be Rakshasa.

मूलशान्तिसमं सर्वमत्रापि मण्डपादिकम्‌ । इन्द्रोऽत्रदेवतातदवदधिदेवोऽनलस्तथा । विज्ञेयं च तथा विप्र ! रक्षः प्रत्यधिदेवता । । 2 । सभी गण्ड नक्षत्रों में मूलशान्ति की तरह ही मण्डपादि बनाना चाहिए । ज्येष्ठा में इन्द्र प्रधान देवता व अग्नि अधिदेवता है — राक्षस को प्रत्यधिदेवता समझें । इस प्रकार तीनों देवों का मूर्तिनिर्माण करके पूजन करना चाहिए ।
