ṢAṬ-TRIṀŚAT-SAMA DAŚĀ: Count from Śravaṇa to the Janma Nakshatra and divide the number by 8. Their Daśās will be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 years in that order, totaling 36 years. If the birth be during the day and the Ascendant be in the Horā of the Sun [adopt with refinements as per the table]. The figure so arrived at should be converted into years, months etc. and the appropriate Daśā method applied per the related illustration tables.

खण्डा और सुधा की घटियों को चार से गुणा कर पन्द्रह से भाग देने पर जो लब्धि मिले वह वर्षादि मान होता है। इसे सूर्यादि ग्रहों की क्रम-संख्या (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) से क्रमशः गुणा करने पर सूर्य से केतु पर्यन्त ग्रहों के काल-दशामान प्राप्त होते हैं।
