PAÑCOTTARĪ DAŚĀ: This Daśā is considered suitable for those whose Ascendant is Cancer and also in the Cancer Dvādaśāṁśa. Count from Anurādhā upto the Janma Nakshatra and divide the number by 7. The remainder will indicate the Daśā. The order of the Daśā lords is the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Mars, Venus, Moon and Jupiter (Rāhu and Ketu do not find a place in this system). The Daśās of the planets are of 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 and 18 years in the aforesaid order, totaling 105 years.

दशमेश यदि दशम में हो तो चतुरशीति समा (चौरासी वर्ष) दशा का साधन करना चाहिए। स्वाति नक्षत्र से जन्म नक्षत्र तक गिनकर सात का भाग दें — शेष संख्यक दशापति होता है।
