ŚŪLA DAŚĀ: Learneds have designed the Śūla Daśā for determining the time of death. In this system the Daśā commences from the 2nd or the 8th house whichever is stronger. If the sign be an odd one, the order of the Daśā of the signs will be onwards. It will be backwards in the case of an even sign. The Daśā years in this system are as adopted for the Sthira Daśā. There is possibility of the death in Daśā of the Māraka (killer) sign which has greater strength.

निर्याण-विचार के लिए कुछ विद्वानों ने शूल-दशा को स्वीकार किया है। लग्न और सप्तम से मृत्यु-भाव (8वाँ) में जो बलवान् हो, वहाँ से विषम राशि में क्रम से और सम राशि में उत्क्रम से दशा होती है। दशा-वर्ष स्थिर-दशा के समान होते हैं। बलवान् मारकभाव में मृत्यु होती है।
