ARGALĀ EFFECTS ON DAŚĀ-RĀŚI: Similarly the learneds have described the effects of the house with Argalā. If there be an auspicious Argalā-causing benefic or malefic planet of rāśi and the Ascendant be aspected by him, that rāśi will prevail. Here Ascendant is the secondary condition. If the planet causing uninterrupted Argalā aspects a rāśi, that rāśi will prevail — good effects will be derived in the Daśā of that rāśi. The Daśā of the rāśi which is not aspected by auspicious Argalā or of a rāśi with Viparīta Argalā will not be favourable. The Daśā of that rāśi which is aspected by a benefic will also be favourable.

सद्दृष्टेऽपि शुभं ब्रूयात् निर्विशंकं द्विजोत्तम ! । इसी पद्धति से दशा राशि से अर्गलाभावों मेँ फल विचार करना चाहिए । जिस राशि की निर्बाध शुभ या पाप अर्गला हो, वह ग्रह यदि दशा राशि को देखे तो दशा में प्रबल फल मिलता है । यदि उक्त ग्रह अर्गला कारक होकर दशा राशि को न देखे तथा विपरीत अर्गला हो तो उस राशि की दशा अशुभ होती है । दशा राशि को कोई भी शुभ ग्रह देखे तो भी दशा शुभ होती है ।
