The effects of the Daśā will be favourable if it is occupied by a benefic and there is also a benefic in the rāśi previous to it. If the rāśi be occupied by a malefic, the effects will be of adverse nature. If there be benefics in the 5th and the 9th, the effects of its Daśā will be favourable. Reverse will be the case if the 5th and the 9th are occupied by malefics.

त्रिकोणरन्धरिःफस्थैः शुभपापैः शुभाशुभम् । तददशायां च वक्तव्यं फलं दैवविदा सदा । जो राशि शुभ ग्रह से युक्त हो अथवा जिसके आगे-पीछे शुभ ग्रह हों तो उस राशि की दशा शुभ फल देने वाली होती है और अशुभ ग्रह रहने पर विपरीत फल समझना चाहिए । जिस राशि में 5.8.9.12 में शुभ पाप ग्रह मिश्रित हों तो उस दशा मे फल भी मिला-जुला ही कहना चाहिए ।
