Hair: The hair of a woman are indicative of good fortune. If they are soft, black, long, thin and yellow, they indicate misfortune. But honey coloured hair of a fair complexioned woman and black hair of a dark complexioned woman are also considered auspicious. Most of the characteristic features described in this Chapter apply to men also.

अत्यन्त गोरी स्त्री के कुछ भूरे बाल तथा साँवली स्त्री के बिल्कुल काले बाल भी शुभ होते हैं। अर्थात् बहुत गोरी स्त्री के बहुत काले व बहुत साँवली स्त्री के भूरेपन लिए बाल शुभ नहीं होते। स्त्री लक्षणों में से जो जो पुरुषों में सम्भव हों, उन्हें पुरुषों के सन्दर्भ में भी कहें।
