If, at a birth, four or more planets possessed of strength occupy a single house, the person born will become a Sakya, a Jeevika, a Bhikshu, a Vriddha or Guru, a Charaka, a Nirgrantthi or Vivasa, or a Vanyasana or Vanaprastha, according as Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, the Moon, Venus, Saturn or the Sun is the strongest planet of the group. If the strongest planet in question be conquered in planetary war by another planet or planets at the time of birth, the person will relinquish that stage of ascetic life and revert to his previous condition in life.

यदि जन्म-समय में चार या अधिक बलयुक्त ग्रह एक ही भाव में स्थित हों, तो जन्म लेने वाला व्यक्ति शाक्य, जीविक, भिक्षु, वृद्ध या गुरु, चरक, निर्ग्रन्थी या विवस्त्र, अथवा वन्यासन या वानप्रस्थ बनेगा — इसके अनुसार कि उस समूह में मंगल, बुध, गुरु, चन्द्र, शुक्र, शनि अथवा सूर्य सबसे बलवान ग्रह कौन है। यदि उक्त सबसे बलवान ग्रह जन्म-समय में अन्य ग्रह या ग्रहों द्वारा ग्रह-युद्ध में पराजित हो जाए, तो व्यक्ति उस संन्यास-अवस्था को त्याग देगा और अपनी पूर्व जीवन-अवस्था में लौट आएगा।
