If the Navamsa belong to Jupiter, the person concerned will earn money through Brahmins, deities, learned men, mines and the like, or by religious acts. If the owner of the Navamsa in question be Venus, the living will be derived by dealing in rubies, silver and the like and by rearing cows and buffaloes. If Saturn be the owner of the Navamsa occupied by the lord of the 10th place, the person concerned will live by doing wearisome acts, by the carrying out of punishments etc. inflicted on criminals, by the bearing of burdens, or by engaging in some vile pursuit. The person succeeds in the avocation prescribed for the planet owning the Navamsa occupied by the lord of the 10th bhava.

यदि नवांश गुरु का हो, तो सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति ब्राह्मणों, देवताओं, विद्वानों, खानों आदि के माध्यम से, अथवा धार्मिक कर्मों से धन अर्जित करेगा। यदि उक्त नवांश का स्वामी शुक्र हो, तो जीविका माणिक्य, चाँदी आदि के व्यापार और गाय-भैंस पालने से प्राप्त होगी। यदि शनि 10वें स्थान के स्वामी द्वारा अधिष्ठित नवांश का स्वामी हो, तो सम्बन्धित व्यक्ति श्रमसाध्य कर्म करके, अपराधियों पर लगाए गए दण्ड आदि के निष्पादन से, बोझ ढोकर, अथवा किसी निम्न व्यवसाय में लग कर जीविका चलाएगा। व्यक्ति को उस व्यवसाय में सफलता मिलती है जो 10वें भाव के स्वामी द्वारा अधिष्ठित नवांश के स्वामी ग्रह के लिए निर्धारित है।
