If a child is born under a fateful combination (Arishta yoga) whereof the period has not been specified, the death of the child will take place when the Moon in her periodical courses goes to the house occupied at the time of birth by the strongest of the planets producing the Arishtayoga. The same event may also happen when the Moon goes to her place (occupied at the time of birth), or the Lagna (at the time of birth), and is aspected in strength by malefic planets. The sages say this death may be expected to happen within a year.

यदि किसी अरिष्ट योग में जन्म हो — जिसका काल निर्दिष्ट न हो — तो शिशु की मृत्यु उस समय होगी जब अपनी परिक्रमा में चन्द्र उस भाव में पहुँचे जहाँ अरिष्ट-कारक सबसे बलवान ग्रह जन्म के समय था। यही फल तब भी हो सकता है जब चन्द्र अपने जन्म-स्थान पर या जन्म-लग्न पर पहुँचे और बलवान पापी ग्रहों की दृष्टि पाए। ऋषि कहते हैं — यह मृत्यु एक वर्ष के भीतर होने की आशंका होती है।
