On religious occasions related to the gods and the like, one should wear a pavitra made of darbha, copper, silver or gold. If it is of gold, it should be worn on the ring finger. This Pavitra is auspicious for the worship of the God, not for that of the Manes. This should not be worn if the father or elder brother of the person is alive. Second Kando 243
