If a person has no son even alter he completed sixty years of age, or if his horoscope indicates a short life and he finds that he has no child so far, he must try to get an ` adopted son in the year desired by him. The boy chosen must have a long life, children, prosperity, fame and good intellect. This adoption ceremony should be in the forenoon of an auspicious day in ullarayana.
