PRIMORDIAL COMPOUNDS (PANCHA BHUTAS). According to the strengths of Jupiter, Venus, Saturn, Mars and Mercury, the native will acquire the effects of the five Tatwas, viz. Ether, Water, Air, Fire and Earth. The strongest of the planet will impart corresponding temperament, viz. windy, bilious, or phlegmatic. If many planets attain strengths, these derivations will be mixed.

पञ्च-भूत-तत्त्व। गुरु, शुक्र, शनि, मंगल एवं बुध के बलानुसार जातक क्रमशः आकाश, जल, वायु, अग्नि एवं पृथ्वी — इन पञ्च तत्त्वों के फल को प्राप्त करता है। जो ग्रह सर्वाधिक बलवान् हो, वह वातज, पित्तज अथवा कफज — तदनुरूप प्रकृति प्रदान करता है। यदि अनेक ग्रह बलवान् हों, तो ये परिणाम मिश्रित रूप में प्रकट होते हैं।
