THE ASHTAKAVARGA OF SATURN. Saturns AshtakaVarga is prepared by inserting benefic dots in places, as denoted below. From the Sun in the 1st, 2nd, 4th, 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th Signs; from the Moon in the 3rd, 6th and 11th Houses; from Mars in the 3rd, 5th, 6th, 10th 11th and 12th Signs; from Mercury in the 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Signs; from Jupiter in the 5th, 6th, 11th and 12th Signs; from Venus in the 6th, 11th and 12th Signs; from his own self in the 3rd, 5th, 6th and 11th Signs and from the ascending Sign in the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 10th and 11th Signs.

शनि का अष्टक-वर्ग। शनि का अष्टक-वर्ग निम्न स्थानों पर शुभ-बिन्दु अंकित करके बनाया जाता है — सूर्य से प्रथम, द्वितीय, चतुर्थ, सप्तम, अष्टम, दशम एवं एकादश राशियों में; चन्द्र से तृतीय, षष्ठ एवं एकादश भावों में; मंगल से तृतीय, पञ्चम, षष्ठ, दशम, एकादश एवं द्वादश राशियों में; बुध से षष्ठ, अष्टम, नवम, दशम, एकादश एवं द्वादश राशियों में; गुरु से पञ्चम, षष्ठ, एकादश एवं द्वादश राशियों में; शुक्र से षष्ठ, एकादश एवं द्वादश राशियों में; स्वयं से तृतीय, पञ्चम, षष्ठ एवं एकादश राशियों में; तथा लग्न-राशि से प्रथम, तृतीय, चतुर्थ, दशम एवं एकादश राशियों में।
