Take the fractions (as mentioned in Sloka 1) and reduce them to equivalent fractions with a common denominator. Add up the aliquot parts of the Dasa representative of the various numerators leaving out the denominators. The sub periods will be arrived at, when the various aliquots are converted into years within the main Dasa and divided by a common factor.

पूर्व कथित अर्द्धादिक भाग का समच्छेद करके फिर समच्छेद को जोड़ दे और नवीन अंश जो उत्पन्न हुए हैं उनकी गुण संज्ञा और उन गुणकारों के योग को भागहार सम- झना चाहिये । दशा वर्षादि पृथक्‌ गुणकारों से गुणा कर भागहार से भाग देने पर जो वर्षादि प्राप्त हो वह अन्तर्दशा होती है
