लग्ने त्रयो विगतशोकविर्वाद्धितानां
कुरवेन्ति जन्म शुभदाः पृथिवीपतीनाम् ।
पापास्तु रोगभवशोकपरिपलुतानां
बह्वाशिनां सकललोकतिरस्कृतानास्

PLANETS CONJUNCT IN THE ASCENDANT. If three planets are together in the Ascendant, the native will be devoid of miseries and will lord over the earth. But, if these are (exclusively) malefics, he will be distressed due to fear, grief etc., will eat much and will be disregarded by one and all.

यदि जन्म के समय लग्न में तीन शुभग्रह हों तो जातक--शोक से रहित व वृद्धि (उन्नति) कर्ता (सं० वि० वि० की मातृका में 'गदशोकविर्वाजितानां' यह पाठान्तर होने से रोग व शोक से हीन) राजा होता हैं । यदि लग्न में तीन पापग्रह हों तो जातक--रोगी, डरपोक, शोक से युत, अधिक खानेवाला तथा समस्त संसार से तिरस्कृत (अपमानित) होता है ॥
