The 7th House from Lagna at the time of copulation indicates the disposition of the couple. If there is a malefics aspect to the Lagna at the time of copulation, the couple unites angrily and with quarrel. Should it be benefics aspect, then the sexual enjoyment will be (pleasing), as enumerated by Vatasyayana Maharsi. If there be both malefic and benefic aspects on the 7*, the sexual act is mixed in nature. According to ones past deeds, to ripen its fruits the semen enters the womb and conception ensues. II- 12. Occurrence of Pregnancy. If the transit Sun and Venus be in Upachaya Rasis with strength with reference to the male partners nativity and occupy even Navamsas, there is scope of pregnancy to be caused by the particular intercourse. Similar effects follow, if strong Moon and strong Mars be in Upachaya Rasis in transit with reference to the females horoscope and be in even Navamsas. Alternatively Venus, Sun, Mars and Moon should be in Upachaya Houses in own Amsas, orj upiter be in Lagna, 5th, or 9th with strength to cause pregnancy.

मैथुन-काल में लग्न से सप्तम भाव दम्पति की प्रवृत्ति का सूचक होता है। यदि उस समय लग्न पर पापग्रहों की दृष्टि हो, तो दम्पति का मिलन क्रोध एवं कलहपूर्वक होता है। यदि शुभ ग्रहों की दृष्टि हो, तो जैसा वात्स्यायन महर्षि ने वर्णन किया है, उनका रति-सुख मनोहर होता है। यदि सप्तम पर शुभ-अशुभ दोनों ही दृष्टियाँ हों, तो मैथुन-क्रिया मिश्रित स्वभाव की होती है। पूर्वकृत कर्मों के अनुसार उनके फलों के परिपाक हेतु वीर्य गर्भाशय में प्रविष्ट होकर गर्भाधान कराता है। गर्भाधान के योग। यदि गोचर में सूर्य और शुक्र पुरुष की जन्मकुण्डली से उपचय राशियों में बलवान् होकर सम नवांश में स्थित हों, तो उस विशेष सम्भोग से गर्भाधान की सम्भावना होती है। इसी प्रकार यदि बलवान् चन्द्र एवं बलवान् मंगल स्त्री की जन्मकुण्डली से गोचर में उपचय राशियों में सम नवांशस्थ हों, तो भी वही फल होता है। अथवा शुक्र, सूर्य, मंगल और चन्द्र उपचय भावों में अपने ही अंशों में स्थित हों, अथवा बलवान् गुरु लग्न, पञ्चम या नवम भाव में हो, तो गर्भाधान होता है।
