Process of Growth of Embryo and Lords thereof. The embryo in the womb improves, as under. First month coagulated blood, second mass of flesh, third limbs, fourth bones, fifth skin, sixth hair, seventh movement, eighth feeling of hunger and thirst, ninth excitement and tenth ripens, like a fruit and ready for coming out of the womb. These ten months are ruled, respectively, by Venus, Mars, Jupiter, the Sun, the Moon, Saturn, Mercury, Lord of Nisheka Lagna, the Moon and the Sun. The dispositions of these Lords indicate good, or bad of the respective processes.

गर्भ की वृद्धि-प्रक्रिया एवं उसके मास-स्वामी। गर्भ का विकास इस प्रकार होता है — प्रथम मास में रक्त-संचय, द्वितीय मास में मांस-पिण्ड, तृतीय मास में अंगों का प्रादुर्भाव, चतुर्थ मास में अस्थि-निर्माण, पञ्चम मास में त्वचा, षष्ठ मास में रोम, सप्तम मास में चलन-स्फुरण, अष्टम मास में क्षुधा-तृष्णा का बोध, नवम मास में चेतनता, तथा दशम मास में फल के समान परिपक्व होकर गर्भ से बाहर आने को तैयार होता है। इन दस मासों के स्वामी क्रमशः शुक्र, मंगल, गुरु, सूर्य, चन्द्र, शनि, बुध, निषेक-लग्नेश, चन्द्र एवं सूर्य हैं। इन मासेशों की शुभाशुभ स्थिति से उन-उन प्रक्रियाओं की शुभाशुभता ज्ञात होती है।
