यदि लग्न में कोई शुभ ग्रह हो अथवा लग्न के 2-12 भावों में दोनों ओर शुभ ग्रह हों तो 'शुभ' योग होता है। यदि लग्न में पाप ग्रह या लग्न से 2-12 में पाप ग्रह हों तो अशुभ है। शुभ योग में जातक रूप, शील, गुण, वाणी आदि से युक्त होता है। अशुभ योग में कामुक, पापकर्म करने वाला, दूसरों की संपत्ति को ताकते रहने वाला होता है।
