The yoga for ascetism is formed, when four or more planets (5, 6, 7), possessed of strength occupy a single house. The person born will become a Tapasvi, a Kapali, wear a red robe, one who keeps a danda — staff, Yati, Keeper of a Chakra, naked Sanyasin, according as the Sun, the Moon, Mars, Mercury, Jupiter, Venus and Saturn is the strongest planet of the group. If a number of planets are endowed with strength, the holy order of the one strongest amongst them is accepted (or altered into).

यदि किसी एक राशि में 4, 5, 6 ग्रह निकटस्थ स्थित हों अर्थात् अंशों में नगण्य अन्तर हो तथा वे बलवान् हों तो प्रव्रज्या योग होता है। यदि प्रव्रज्या योग होने पर योगकारक ग्रहों में सूर्य अधिक बली हो तो मनुष्य तपस्वी अर्थात् अनुशासित जीवन वाला, व्रत नियम वाला, कन्दमूलादि खाने वाला एकान्तवासी होता है। यदि चन्द्रमा बलवान् हो तो कपाली, कपाल धारण करने वाला, श्मशानादि में साधना करने वाला अघोरी होता है।
