The Sage said — O Brahmin! After completing the Trikona and Ekadhipatya Shodhana in the Ashtakavargas of the planets, the rectified number should be multiplied by the measure of the rasi. If there be any planet in any rasi, the rectified number should be multiplied by the measure of the planet also. Then after multiplying the rectified number of each rasi, the products should be added up. The total so arrived at will be the Pinda of that planet. The multipliers (Rasimana) of rasis are: 10 for Taurus and Leo, 8 for Gemini and Scorpio, 7 for Aries and Libra, 5 for Capricorn and Virgo. The multipliers of the remaining rasis are the same as their numbers, namely 4 for Cancer, 9 for Sagittarius, 11 for Aquarius and 12 for Pisces. The multipliers of planets (Grahamana) are: 10 for Jupiter, 8 for Mars, 7 for Venus, 5 for Mercury, Sun, Moon and Saturn.

पराशर उवाच — एवं शोध्यावशेषाङ्क राशिमानेन वर्धयेत्‌ । ग्रहयुक्ते हि तद्राशौ ग्रहमानेन वर्धयेत्‌ । । 1 । । (1) सभी राशियों के पूर्व प्राप्त एकाधिपत्य शुद्ध रेखामान को, यहीं कहे जा रहे राशि गुणक से गुणा करें । यह क्रिया सभी ग्रहों के अष्टकवर्ग में अलग-अलग होगी । (2) यदि किसी राशि में ग्रह हो तो उस राशि की त्रिकोण शुद्ध रेखाओं को ग्रह गुणक से गुणा कर । यह क्रिया भी आठों चक्रों में करें । इस प्रकार सबका योग करने पर राशिपिण्ड व 'ग्रहपिण्ड' कहलाता है ।
