EFFECTS OF THE 10TH FROM KĀRAKĀṀŚA: If the 10th from Kārakāṁśa be aspected or conjoined by a benefic, the native will have firm riches, be sagacious, strong and intelligent. A malefic so related will cause harm to his profession and deprive him of paternal bliss. Mercury and Venus so related will confer many gains in business (or profession) and will make him do many great deeds. The luminaries so related to the 10th from Kārakāṁśa and if be in aspect to or conjunction with Jupiter the native will acquire a kingdom.

पितृ-सौख्यादि विचार (दशम-भाव): कारकांश से दशम भाव में बुध के अतिरिक्त कोई शुभ ग्रह हो या देखे तो मनुष्य स्थिर विचारों वाला, स्थिर धन वाला, गम्भीर, बली व बुद्धिमान्‌ — अर्थात्‌ जमकर व्यवसाय करने वाला होता है। यदि केवल बुध का दृग्योग हो तो मनुष्य प्रसिद्धि देने वाला तथा त्वरित लाभ देने वाला व्यवसाय करता है, लेकिन अस्थिर विचार व धन होता है। दशम में पाप ग्रह का दृग्योग रहने से व्यापार में हानि व पिता के सुख में कमी होती है। ऐसा व्यक्ति अस्थिर विचारों वाला भी होता है। यदि दशम में सूर्य व गुरु हों तो राजयोगी होता है। दशम में अकेला सूर्य व उस पर अकेला गुरु दृष्टि करे तो गोप, बहुत दुधारू जानवरों वाला, गो-पालन करने वाला होता है।
