RĀHU-SUN IN KĀRAKĀṀŚA: Should Rāhu and the Sun be in Kārakāṁśa there will be fear from snakes; if a benefic aspects the said combination there will be no fear but a malefic aspect will bring death (through serpents). If Rāhu and the Sun occupy benefic Ṣaḍvargas, being in Kārakāṁśa, one will be a doctor treating poisonous afflictions while the aspect from Mars on the said combination denotes that the native will burn either his own house or that of others. Mercury's aspect, instead of that of Mars, will not cause the said effects. If Rāhu and the Sun be in Kārakāṁśa and be in a malefic's sign in aspect to Jupiter, one will burn neighbouring house while the aspect of Venus will not cause such an event.

कारकांश से विशेष अरिष्ट: यदि कारकांश में सूर्य व राहु साथ हों तो सर्प से भय होता है। यदि शुभ ग्रह की दृष्टि हो तो भय नहीं होता तथा पाप-दृष्टि होने पर मृत्यु। यदि शुभ-दृष्टि न होकर उक्त ग्रह शुभ ग्रहों के षड्वर्ग में गए हों तो मनुष्य विषवैद्य होता है। यदि कारकांशगत सूर्य-राहु पर मंगल की दृष्टि हो तथा अन्य ग्रह न देखें तो मनुष्य अपना व दूसरों का घर फूँकता है — सचमुच जला देता है अथवा लाक्षणिक रूप से अपनी परम हानि के साथ शत्रुओं को भी नष्ट कर देता है, शत्रुओं को मारकर मर जाता है, अथवा अपने व विपक्षियों के शवों को अग्नि देता है। यदि बुध की दृष्टि हो तो अग्निदाहक नहीं होता। पाप-राशि में कारकांश हो, सूर्य-राहु वहीं पर हों तथा गुरु देखे तो पास के घर को जलाता है। यदि शुक्र की दृष्टि हो तो गृहदाह नहीं होता।
