When neither the time of impregnation (Adhana) nor the time of birth (Janma) is known, an astrologer ought to make out the chart of the querist from the rising sign at the time of query. If the ascendant be the first half of a sign, the birth should be declared to have been in the Uttarayana; if it be the latter half, the birth should have been in the Dakshinayana.
